“Natural Morphine”.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric (or 1 tablespoon fresh turmeric)
  • 1 small cinnamon stick
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
  • Lemon slices and fresh mint for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pour the water into a small saucepan and bring it to a gentle boil.
  2. Add the grated ginger, turmeric, cinnamon stick, and black pepper.
  3. Reduce the heat and simmer for 8–10 minutes.
  4. Remove from the heat and strain the tea into two mugs.
  5. Stir in the fresh lemon juice.
  6. Add honey to taste if desired.
  7. Garnish with a lemon slice or fresh mint and serve warm.

Recipe Notes

  • Fresh turmeric provides a brighter flavor than ground turmeric.
  • Black pepper helps improve the absorption of curcumin, the active compound in turmeric.
  • Honey can be omitted for a sugar-free version.
  • Store leftover tea in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours and reheat gently before serving.
