Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- ½ cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered erythritol or monk fruit sweetener
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
- Whipped cream (sugar-free) for garnish (optional)
- Fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)
Equipment
- High-speed blender
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoons
- Serving glasses
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients
Measure all ingredients accurately. Using frozen strawberries creates the thickest and creamiest milkshake, but fresh strawberries can also be used with additional ice.
Step 2: Add Ingredients to Blender
Place the frozen strawberries, almond milk, heavy cream, sweetener, vanilla extract, and ice cubes into the blender. Add chia seeds if using.
Step 3: Blend
Blend on high speed for 45–60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides if necessary, then blend again for another 15–20 seconds.
Step 4: Taste and Adjust
Taste the milkshake and adjust the sweetness if desired by adding a little more keto sweetener. If you prefer a thinner consistency, blend in a small splash of almond milk. For a thicker shake, add a few more frozen strawberries or ice cubes.
Step 5: Serve
Pour the milkshake into two chilled glasses. Top with sugar-free whipped cream and garnish with a fresh strawberry if desired. Serve immediately while cold.
Tips for the Best Keto Strawberry Milkshake
- Use frozen strawberries for a naturally thick texture.
- Chill your serving glasses before pouring for a longer-lasting cold drink.
- Choose a powdered keto sweetener for the smoothest consistency.
- Add a scoop of unflavored or vanilla keto protein powder for a filling breakfast or post-workout shake.
- Blend for at least one minute to achieve a creamy, café-style texture.
- Avoid sweetened almond milk, which can increase the carbohydrate content.
Variations
- Add 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder for a chocolate strawberry version.
- Blend in 2 tablespoons cream cheese for a cheesecake-inspired milkshake.
- Add a few fresh mint leaves for a refreshing twist.
- Include 1 tablespoon almond butter for extra healthy fats and a nutty flavor.
- Sprinkle unsweetened coconut flakes on top for added texture.
Storage
This milkshake is best enjoyed immediately after blending. If necessary, refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 24 hours. Shake or blend briefly before serving, as separation is natural. Freezing is not recommended because the texture changes significantly after thawing.
