Here’s a simple and delicious Cabbage and Ground Beef recipe for a hearty, one-pan meal:

🥘 Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (85% lean)
  • 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (optional)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Optional: Red pepper flakes for heat, shredded cheese for topping

🔪 Instructions

  1. Cook the Ground Beef:

    • Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Add ground beef and cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
    • Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Sauté the Vegetables:

    • In the same skillet, add another tbsp of olive oil if needed.
    • Sauté onion until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Cook the Cabbage:

    • Add chopped cabbage. Cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and caramelized, about 10-12 minutes.
    • Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Combine and Simmer:

    • Return ground beef to the skillet.
    • (Optional) Add diced tomatoes and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  5. Serve:

    • Enjoy as-is or top with shredded cheese and red pepper flakes.
